Default Different AI personality -question to experts/devs

I have a question about Passive/Neutral/Agressive AIs.

How exactly do they work? Will agresive AI declare war on you as soon as you meet? And is it agressive to human only, or to other AIs as well?

And if this is the case, and Agressive AI is agressive toward everbody, including other AIs, does it really provide more challenge to human player? I remember that in some other strategy games I've played, such as EU1/2, HOI2, it was better to leave AI on "Normal" agressivness level if the human player was looking for maximum challenge, otherwise AIs would bleed itself dry in wars with other AIs, providing less challenge to the player.

So which is the case here?

Also which indep strength works best for AIs in Dom3? In Dom2 the accepted wisdom was not to raise indep strenght too high, or AI would suicide in strong provinces. Since now AI have much more (and better) troops, is it ok to raise strenght above 5, or will it hurt AI more than it would hurt player?

Basicly I am thinking about the most challenging SP setup, that I would liek to try in my next game, if I'll win my current one on Glory of Gods/17 Mighty Random AIs. (I am still in the beggining of the game, but I am doing well so far, leading the province race. But there were no wars with AIs yet, so it remains to be seen how well it will perform)
