This is probably the most off-topic post I have ever made on this board, but this is hilarious and I have to share.
I don't want to tick off any of you that might work for the USPS, I know you all work hard and usually do a great job, but I've just received what has to be the worst mis-mailed letter in the history of letters.
As most of you know I live in Ohio. I don't like giving out my address, but for the purposes here let's say I live at 1220 My Street. I'm used to occasionally getting other people's mail. Usually it makes some sense. Stuff like 1220 Oak Street or 1220 Wood Lane. Streets near-by, and the street number and zip code are the same, so it's an understandable mistake.
Today folks I got another 1220 letter. Not just any 1220 letter though. This is for 1220 Another Street, Ellensburg Washington. Washington State folks. Washington-Freaking State. West till you hit ocean and north till you hit Canada Washington State.
Two Thousand Two Hundred and Ninety-Four Miles from my house Washington state.
The letter was mailed from Yakima Washington to Ellensburg Washington, 45 miles. Via Ohio. Only off by 5000%! Close enough.
What kills me is not that it ended up in the wrong state, or the wrong town. But that somebody figured it belonged in my box. I guess I'm getting all the 1220 mail in North America now.
