Immortal Pretender trick

Most of you probably already know this, but I thought I would share.

If you capital is under siege and you have an immortal pretender, you can try to break the siege every turn. You might worry that you would lose this battle and then the pretender could not assist in defending the castle as it is stormed. This is not the case. Even if they die trying to break siege, they will be there in the castle storming defense. In other words, I killed him when he tried to break siege and then had to kill him again when I stormed the castle. As a high level fire mage, he hurt me…

Of course, you may well have better things to do with them, like summoning units, but it is an option. Also, if your capital is in that much trouble, you also have big, big problems, but knowing you can hurt them a bit more might be of interest.
