CU, that was interesting, yeah so AI does put your defending forces on patrol if the battle takes place in your province well I learned something new today.

In regard to that battle, I think the patrol only occurs if those troops were given move orders. It's too bad that one disasterous result can drive a very competitive nation to despair.
