That was my way of saying that the situation was hopeless.

Pangaea was going to become zombies anyway, even without Ermor's help. They were about 50 nature gems away from casting Carrion Woods. (which included an enpowerment.) But Pangaea asks Ermor if they can keep their current stylish green zombie look, instead of what they find the boring Ermor grey.
