Gold and minefields... anyone have the AI sweep for mines?

Just wondering. The TDM Modpack races seem to stop sending ships through the fields over and over again, which probably means the avoid minefield setting works, but I haven't had any sweepers go through for awhile. Of course, I haven't played with the Narn very much since I found them to be horrifyingly effective at minesweeping in various pre-Gold games. Combined with Religious tech that can be nasty.
