Default Re: Snipers Range

Guys,
as I'm not a weapons/OOB/ToOE "digger" I usually avoid getting into such discussions/arguments. But in this case, which is a "range" thing, I want to say (remind)this.
In Real Life range is counted in meters, yards, whatever...
In the game it is counted in hexes.
From hex (1,1) to hex (21,1) range (hex count) is 20 hexes, actual distance is 1000m.
From hex (1,1) to (1,21) range is 20 hexes, actual distance is ~865m
The deviation between these two equal paths in number of hexes is 16% in real distance.
Therefore,by definition, introduction of a weapon's range in the game is a "compromise".
Cross,
you're talking about a 150m tactical advantage you're "missing" for your sniper due to the exclusion of sniper rifle XYZ, when the "metrics" of the hexagon grid allows for 16% deviations in actual distances.
So for an actual range of 1000m what should be the game range in hexes, in your opinion?
