if you stop feeding a fusion reacter fuel, the reaction stops. of course, there's still superheating to deal with, but they could be using some Version of cold fusion. of course, if your fuel supply went up, that's still a lot of hydrogen... and theoretically, you could start your fusion reaction up again. i guess the appeal of battletech is bigger is better
