Depends what you class as small, say this because if you like Russians its probably for the variety.
Easiest way till you get an idea of points is to set larger than you need for player 1 say 10,000 & set player 2 to XXX.
Now buy what you want & the other player will get the same amount of points you spent not 10,000.
Works vs AI & PBEM hope that helps.
