AI and Troops

Does any of the AI use troops. I started to make my own race. I based it on Tarrians. I created a croups called the arians. Which are biologicly like the Terrians but have a borg like attitude. Which means instead of destroying a planet they would take it using troops. But I noticed after staring to play with it that they didn't build troops. How do I get them to do that
