Do you have a copy of Galactic Starfire or Starfire 3rd edition? If not, I would highly recommend getting one, it would help with balancing things considerably. If you are trying to recreate the books to fairly exacting detail, Starfire 3rd. edition would be the better choice (if it's still available). Galactic Starfire is expensive too (another reason to try and get SF3 instead). Check out the official site (
