  Solution is - get killed QUICKLY. 

 Like charging a barbarian horde with 1 hp (just remember to script your pretender to attack, or he will start casting and may even win)

  Yes, and you get lesser MR. But in exchange you get 21 base hp (much better than most rainbows), all undead immunities (cold, poison, starvation) and chill aura. And you keep those precious magic paths!
