New patch V7 Screen resolution issues

Successfully installed V7 (also have older CD version) and now screen options severely limited, no high res or wide screen. Help advises the CD version has these options, however is it possible to load CD and make these changes to the monitor without reloading the older version over the top of V7? Thanks.
