Strange warp points question

I already considered that. But as it happens, the sector in question is immediately above the one I'm coming from so it's clearly the shortest route.

Now what's this about damaging warp points? When I click on the point, there is no indication of it being damaged. And that also doesn't account for the fact that some of my ships are going through the warp point--even the ones with the M on them.

Your ships may be moving to avoid damaging warp points. Or, they may be finding a shorter path than they had originally projected upon receiving the move to order.
