well you can destroy the nebulae and create a star there... but if you're there it'd be more efficient to just make a shortcut via warp-point opener.

it'd be most cool if nebulae systems would in fact have something hidden under them. i think that was one of the original feature promises/requests.

There used to be a bug where you could get planets in a nebula... that was cool, especially if your homeworld was there!

I see. So I can't create more than 100 stars to make the biggest colony in sphereworlds. Too bad.

You can probably mod this, and/or use the map editor.

You can also create storms on top of your existing planets during play.

I think that can still happen when using a loaded map and random location.

And IIRC once you create a shpereworld, the star ceases to exist so then you can make a new one

No, unfortunately, if you create a sphereworld around it, you can't create more stars, because there is already one in the system. To create more stars, just destroy the one there is. However, you can't turn asteroids into planets anymore once you created a sphereworld, because there is no star, yes.
