Re: (Newbie) Galactic Combat 3 - Story Thread
Year 1
After thousands of millenia beyond counting the Alteri's small homeworld had drifted into a new starsystem.
Filled with a sudden urge to expand, a few of the Alteri traversed the distance seperating their old world with the new one they had detected. In simple space craft some of the Alteri bridged the gap between their old home and a much larger and wealthier world that would become their new. Here they settled and began a new life as their old home with the majority of the Alteri population continued on its path drifting through the outer reaches of the system and eventually became lost within the vastness of space once again.
Year 2400.00
It had been 2400 years since the Alteri had settled their new world. In that time they had grown rapidly both in numbers and in understanding. While bound to their old world they had had just enough resources from impacting asteroids and the dead core of their home to construct a few simple space craft. Now on their new world they had wealth beyond belief and the urge to expand fell upon them once again. As one all those on the surface of their new home turned their eyes to the sky and gazed with awe and determination upon the glare of their star on one side of their world and the distant but steady light of many thousands of distant stars on the other.
Those not on the surface stopped briefly to share in the experience of their surface dwelling cousins.
It was time.
Many workers moved almost as one and quickly set about building the first of many new craft that would be used to explore the vastness of the universe and to colonize other worlds so that new Alteri could join in all the joys that were life and grow old and cherished as the First where.
Elsewhere many scientists continued to gaze deep into the great blackness and to study all that it would reveal. Already they had the targets for the first ships that would be finished. A few small moons for their people to live upon and a few gravitational anomalies to study for the first exploration vessels.
In another realm of existence entirely the thoughts of the First spread forth with plans. The plans were argued and debated and changed and agreed upon and implemented. Yet always more plans came forth and the First builder argued his cause as the First Thinker did his and the First Artist his and the First Digger and the First Protector and all the other Firsts... each had the force of many behind them and the experiences of Millenia to guide them.
And so it was that the Alteri prepared to move into a new Age.

Re: (Newbie) Galactic Combat 3 - Story Thread
The theory of scientific socialism introduced by Jbgsjsn Knt'h, which purports to explain the origin, historical development, and demise of the capitalist economic system. It relies heavily on the philosophy of Ghsnwfrm, in particular Jbgsjsn Knt'h's thesis that change has to be explained in terms of contradiction (see dialectical materialism). Class analysis, the central component of Marxism, is not peculiar to Jbgsjsn Knt'h but was shared by contemporary political economists. Communism is distinct in that it developed the theory of proletarian revolution. The transition to a socialist and eventually a classless society would not be a gradual evolution but would involve the violent overthrow of the state power (army, police, bureaucracy, etc.) of the bourgeois class. The working class would have to establish its own state power, which would be more democratic because it would be the rule of the majority of the population, the working class. As classes gradually disappeared, however, state power would also wither away since the state was fundamentally an instrument by which one class ruled over other classes. The classless society of the future would allow the fullest developments of individuals through social cooperation.
This should explain clearly enough why it is necessary to export the socialist revolution of Comrade General-President-Pope Rzvgqmgkrt to the rest of the universe.

Re: (Newbie) Galactic Combat 3 - Story Thread
Should we have a discussion thread for this story thread?
