Re: Question about "Sentry"
It won't let you sentry if there is already an enemy ship in the system.

Re: Question about "Sentry"
There are no enemy ships in this system and the Sentry button shows full colors....any other reasons?

Re: Question about "Sentry"
Ships which are at a resupply warning (barrel with yellow bottom)--usually 1000 supplies or less--may not sentry.

As for the question...
Think of it not that they won't go on sentry... instead, they sentry, spot the problem and them exit sentry mode to tell you on the same turn

Re: Question about "Sentry"
This might be a post for the "Hidden Secrets" thread, but Sentry will also turn off if a cloaked ship enters your sector. This could have been a bug in the demo, but I remember having sentried ships in a system, and then they would mysteriously de-sentry, even with no visible enemies or supply problems. And then a random planet or ship would get attacked out of nowhere. I could have missed something, because I haven't been foolish enough to allow a cloaked ship behind my lines again (mines are good), and this only happened the first time I ever played and it was the demo. I've only played about 4 games with the Gold Version... Anyone else notice this?

I just tested it for 1.84 and it's not happeneing. It might be a demo only bug or something. I haven't tested it with the demo.
