Re: Cloaking drones bug?
They are supposed to uncloak just before they hit their target, though. How great is the range to target when they uncloak? If it's only a single turn's movement they are behaving correctly.

There is no distance, no target. The drones are sitting on a warp doing nothing. I order them to cloak, hit 'end turn' and the next turn they are decloaked again.
I thought to use them as tiny portable spy vehicles that costs no maintenance. But this idea fails.

Why don't you use sats for this purpose?
But I think you are right that if you want to keep this drone cloaked it should be possible.
Just a stupid question: you don't have any ministers activated?

Re: Cloaking drones bug?
maybe it's because drones are supposed to be throw-away and cloaking them is ongoing.

Re: Cloaking drones bug?
Just made a test but in a turn based game: drone cloaking worked without problems and the cloaking was not deactivated after a turn.

Sats can not move. I design a drone to have enough solar sails to regenerate supplies while sitting + stealth armor + some engines. And move it to a system I want to observe. At the highest drone level it is possible to include some kind of scanners to see cloaked ships as well.
I think it is much less micromanagment than using sats.
And nope, no ministers.

Yes, turned based works fine. But it does not in multi. I have just ran 2 multiplayer turns on PBW today. The first turn I order a drone to cloak. The next it was automatically decloaked.

Re: Cloaking drones bug?
Reported this bug to Malfador. I hope they'll fix it in the next patch
