Re: Resupply base
Might be a silly Q but if you have a QR in a Fleet do you need to have the cargo contaners in the others??????

There are no silly questions. Never.
Well, except what music you listen to while you are playing.
Nope. You don't need any supply storage on your other ships. Your engines have the ability to store supplies, and just one Quantum Reactor in the fleet will keep all your engines stocked with supplies.

I guess you need some supplies for the parts which need more supply per turn (like some SM comps.). Your weaponry also needs supplies, but maybe the engine supplies are enough for combats ?!?

Re: Resupply base
Design A space Station with only a bridge, 2 crew qtrs and 2 life support. (makes it fast to build)
Build it somewhere useful using a Mobile ship yard - then fleet your ships with it. They will be fully resupplied on the next turn.

The Quantum Reactor is a ship component. If you add the QR to a ship, it never runs out of supplies, and if you add a ship containing a QR to the fleet, the fleet never runs out of supplies. You can get this by researching Resupply to the end. Very nice component.
I've discovered a little trick to this, though. The non-QR ships will resupply at the end of a turn; so, if you use a lot of supplies in a given turn, you can still run fairly low (long movement plus long combat will do this; so will Stellar Manipulations). I'm also not completely certain that the resupply occurs if your ships are moving. I've had fleets with movement orders that take multiple turns to complete end up with many ships low on supply, even though I have a QR ship in the fleet. More testing is probably required...

Could be useful..
All that has to be done is change the "Supply Generation" ability to work for components. Currently it does not. I've been thinking of giving the ability to a Base HULL to see if it works that way. Gotta try that one of these days. It would be great to have a base work like a resupply depot and not have to fleet with it.
