Re: OT: Internet Explorer 6 crashes
Those were my thoughts exactly, and I've regularly done the things you describe, except for actually switching browsers. I tend to believe the software conflict scenario, but proving it will take a bit of experimentation. At this moment I suspect Eudora Light (an e-mail program), or possibly one of those recent Windoze updates (did it Last month) of being the culprit. Thanks for the input.

Re: OT: Internet Explorer 6 crashes
I have all of the WIN98se and IE6 updates.
I do not have the problem.
I recently reloaded my operating system.
I keep it clean now by cleaning out internet stuff:
menus: IE6: TOOLS: INTERNET OPTIONS:
buttons: Delete Cookies, Delete Files, Delete History.
Without Cookies: I have to log on to this site every time, and I have to remember site passwords.
Without Files: Page load times are longer. They do not have Icons and logos stored on my PC.
But, I have broadband, so load times do not bother me.
Without History: Now, where was I anyway?

Re: OT: Internet Explorer 6 crashes
Open the Plugin-folder of your internet explorer. Make a backup of the files there and delete them after the backup. Maybe this will ehlp you, some plugins can cause the IE to crash.

Re: OT: Internet Explorer 6 crashes
You can download an older Version from the browser archive if it helps.

Sounds like good advice.

Re: OT: Internet Explorer 6 crashes
After a bit of goofing around, I have come to believe that the bad behavior occurs if I start IE after first checking my e-mail with Eudora Light. It will take a few more days of testing to find out for sure. Since Eudora has been on my computer for quite some time, it may be that more recent Windoze updates are incompatible with that installation. That's one hypothesis anyway. Maybe it's time Eudora should be reinstalled or replaced.
As far as this site goes, I've recently spent a large percentage of my time here, so naturally a large percentage of the crashes are going to happen here.
