Gee, 24 years ago, March of 1977

I was 17, had hair down to my ***, and was living in London. I'd just been arrested and beaten by the cops. The former largely for the crime of having irish friends, the latter for refusing to answer questions about them.

The Punk scene was in full swing in London, and Soho on a saturday night was a thing you'd have to see to believe.

In the aftermath of the vietnam war, Americans were still quite unpopular abroad. "****ing Americans" was an expression I heard frequently, usually in a tone of voice conveying contempt and disgust.

Umm, are we really sure we're nostalgic for the 70's ??
