Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
If you have a peace treaty other than Non-Intercourse with them, your mines will not affect them.

Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
Not in this case, I was at war with that race. They were the Colonials fron Galactica, by the way. And I was making minefields everywere in a star system I colonized first but they claimed it as belonging to their race. So war was declared by them, and their ships start passing thruogh my minefields like they were not in place!!

Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
You didn't happen to mod in any mine warheads with special damage types, did you? If you had, say, weapon damaging mines, and the enemy ships were unarmed, the mines would not have detonated.
Oh, and yes, it is possible to create research/intel generating components - just use the new "Generate Points - Research" ability

Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
In one of my early games the Cue Cappa just sailed through my minefields bLasted my homeworld.
Of course, with me forgetting to put warheads on my mines they would have been pretty useless anyway

Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
Thank you for the tip! This ability is new in v1.91, right?
About mines: It is most disturbing, the warheads were all plain old HE, no special damage. Do you know about any other player who experimented the same strange effect? Maybe a clean instalation of the game and the patch can be the solution?
By the way, if I install the game, is enough to apply the Last patch,or it is necessary to apply everyone one after the other in order?

Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
Only the latest patch is OK.
There is also something called the "unmod" floating around. It will restore all the essential files without messing with your shipsets and mods placed properly in subfolders.

Re: Patch v1.91 questions to all
Hello:
I just want to tell everyone (specially the ones who cared to answer and offer help) a my minefield problem was very simple: I just forgot to load mines with a warhead! (just like Primitive!) Just plain stupidity!
By the way I checked the new Generate Point Research ability, using a component placed in bases to generate reserch points and seems to work fine!
Besides, the new options given in the weapons targeting field (the optional list) is a great addition! Now you are really free to configure your own weapons as you like!
Thanks to all!
