you dont have alot on your computer my SEIV is 1.6 gigs and i got a a game that is 4 gigs

What's the difference between size and size on disk and how come there can be huge differences between them?

Log files, save games, downloaded 'expansions' and patches. And of course with SE IV... MODS!

I was surprised at how big peoples folders of se4 were so I checked mine

size: 1.85 GB
size on disk: 2.21 GB

and I still have a seperate 1.84 copy at 1.3 Gb.

If I had been forced to guess I would have said less than 100 MB. I just checked my sub folders and its pretty clear its because I have a seperate folder for every game I've ever been in and a copy of every turn, and of course lots of Mods.

Edit: so far the rankings are
1. Fyron 7 GB
2. Deadstar 4GB
3. Myself (Randallw) 3.15 GB
4. Colonel 1.6 GB
I expect Atrocities or Geoschmo will come in a take the top spots.

Oh yeah... that was SE4 Gold, now here's SE4 Classic, which I keep around for that P&N on PBW game which has been going on about the past 3 years or so

File size: 159 MB (166,731,438 bytes)
Size on disk: 80.4 MB (84,365,000 bytes)

Wow, I didn't even know an SE4 install could be that small... guess it must have to do with the fact that the Last time my computer crashed I had to reinstall SE4 and I just installed the basics - the stock game, the 1.49 patch, and the mod and shipsets from that one game!

Its your own fault. Shamelessly saying how much SE4 stuff you have. The ensuing one-upmanship can squarely be blamed on you.

I was just trying to tell AT how 2.4 GB is nothing for one game...

Hmm... my SE4 folder has not aged very well at all. Put on a lot of weight in the Last 2 years! I hope it doesn't have a heart attack or something...
