I've never met Solaris, but I have browsed the strings in the executable, heh; had once been looking for things to wish for, e.g. items I couldn't forge even if investing a truly demented amount of gems to create a super archmage.

Solaris is a Paladin, but a very experienced and well equipped one. Thus his stats are hidden from mortal eyes.

There are some items that can't be forged by players. These can be found on special heroes that sometimes appear during map generation.

Specials such as these can only appear in nonscripted provinces. They are rather rare. A handful in a large game at most.

Sun battlesuit (sword, shield, helm & armor). Grants partial elemental resistance, extra magic resistance, awesome presence, berserk. IIRC the sword also inflicts extra fire damage.
