Wither bones isn't working for you? Lammashtas will be able to damage the undead, but they won't be nearly as good at it as a bane lord with decent equipment.
even IF i had lvl 6 thaumatagury, 10 mages vs 336 ethereal undead seems like a pretty uneven match. Wellll, maybe not. I do have 2 lvl 4 priests, 1 lvl 3 priest, and a lvl 8 death pretender.

intsead, i have lvl 8 conjuration and I am casting Well of Misery this turn!

Well, each of your sauromancers can cast three of them, and each will kill every normal undead it hits in an area of 6+. Assuming that it's all spectral legionairies and not dispossed spirits, that's a rough estimate of around 18 undead killed per mage per turn for the first three turns. Of course, that's the optimal amount of damage, and it will likely be a bit lower than this, but it's definetly the mst efficient way to use death mages to get rid of mass quantities of undead.
