I once made an Earth 10 cyclops as my pretender and boosted him to Earth 12 with items and he cast hordes of Living Statues per ritual. Something to consider. There are lots of good summons that get better with higher paths of the caster and starting with 10 in that path really gives you the best possible result for your gems.
