Re: MP Game - Yet another MP newbie game!
Errr... I messed up?
While selecting my race on the server I clicked on Atlantis (just being curious since Atlantis and Ermor were the only ones I could select). It's status turned to human control and I couldn't change it back. So I clicked on Ermor to see if the status of Atlantis would change. It didn't. I can see that these were the only races I had created a pretender for. Neither were human, so I couldn't use them in this game. I disconnected and made a human pretender for Joitunheim. Selected Jotunheim on the server, and all is ok with that.
But what about Atlantis and Ermor? How do I disable them or can the host disable them somehow?
Sorry about that...

Is there still a slot left? If so, I would like to play R'lyeh.

Yeah, that was a long time ago, and the person did not take the slot that was available for several days. I'd rather just keep Ulm, seeing as how the slot was open and the person picking had plenty of time to grab it before I did.
However, if it is a big problem, I'll stand aside. I'd just like to know the person is still interested before we go through the rigamaroll of clearing the slot.

Re: MP Game - Yet another MP newbie game!
Ok before I do it I have to ask:
Do I start the game by hitting "restart"??
Is that how I start the dang thing? I'm really quite scared to do that since it could easily kick everyone off ( and the game is *full* ).
But I see no other UI that would get the game started.

Hrmm... it doesnt have a 'start game' button when you connect to the game? It used to give anyone the option to start the game, but that caused unending headaches so he fixed it. I dunno how the host starts now.

Well, if you're using XP, you do the following:
Create a shortcut to Dominions2 on your desktop. Right-click this shortcut and select properties. In the target box, change it to the following:
"C:\Program Files\dominions2\dom2.exe" --tcpclient --ipadr dom2.mosehansen.dk --port 2246 --clickvol 0
This assumes you installed the game in the default directory; if not then change "C:\program files\dominions2\dom2.exe" to wherever your dom2.exe file is located. The --tcpclient tells it that you're joining a multiplayer game; after the --ipadr you put the address of the server; after --port you put the port #. The line above is correct for this game. (The --clickvol 0 just turns off the mouse clicking sound, you can leave that part of the line out if you want to hear the mouse clicks drive you insane)
Then you just make your pretender like you would as if you were going to play a single player game. When your pretender is ready, exit the game and click that shortcut to connect to the mosehansen game, and you will see a list of nations to choose from. The spot next to your nation should say open; click it and it will change to human controlled, then click disconnect and you've uploaded your pretender. If it already says human controlled then someone else took your spot, you'll have to come back here to clear it up. In the future just click the shortcut to take your turns.
If you're running something other than xp (well, that probably works for all windows, except perhaps the location of the game) then someone else will have to give you the proper commands. Hopefully that's all correct, it's really past bedtime here!

I followed your instructions and it worked. Unfortunately it says Jotun is human controlled. How do I get my spot back?
