A nice formula has been given somewhere to calculate your planetary production, but I am no good at maths, so I will only explain how to calculate it. In the meantime, I fully expect three other posters to beat me to it.
- Your facilities have a basic production value. 800 minerals in the case of Mineral Extraction I.
- Your planetary value multiplies this value. So, in the case of a planet with 120% mineral value, you will have 960 mineral production.
- Your Empire may have bonuses to mineral production. Having 110% in this field would result in a +10% bonus, making your 800 facility produce 880 minerals.
- Special facilities increase resource production in a given planet/system. At the highest technology level, it can give a hefty +45% bonus to mineral production, making the output of a Mineral Extraction I 1,160 minerals.
- Happiness increases resource production as well. At Jubilant level (the best), production will be increase by 20%, making the same facility produce 960 minerals.
- Lastly, high levels of population increase production. It is why your homeworld will produce more per facility than your colony worlds.
Now the amusing question, does all the above multiply or add? I have never been positive about it, but then I usually have more than enough minerals in storage. I think some (all?) multiply, but don't quote me on that.
