In much the same way as the instructions in the help file tell you.
I assume you are THE Fyron.

I DID follow the directions (as I stated before) and it screwed up the bab 5 mod. I think your directions instruct you to copy over too much.

Your instructions tell me to overwrite SPECIFICALLY these files.

DefaultStrategies.txt
Formations.txt
PlanetSize.txt
SectType.txt
Settings.txt
StellarAbility.txt
SystemTypes.txt
QuadrantTypes.txt

Some of those files overwritten mess up Bab 5. So the directions DON'T help.

Would it be appropriate to only overwrite the following files?

PlanetSize.txt
SectType.txt
StellarAbility.txt
SystemTypes.txt
QuadrantTypes.txt

Are you running SE4 Gold 1.91? Specifically, a Version of B5 Mod that has been made playable in Gold?

The instructions are still helpful in that they tell you which files are modified by FQM. You have to merge them into the mod you are combining FQM with... TDM is just a special case in that it doesn't modify the data files (other than Formations.txt). As stated previously, you will lose the customized changes to quadrants in B5 Mod, such as Hyperspace systems, by just putting the FQM files in there. If you do not mind losing these, that will partially suffice. You will still need the population modifier settings from FQM, located in Settings.txt.

These two files should be used as well. They contain many more formations and strategies than are in B5 Mod, as well as being designed to allow up to 101 ships to work in a formation, rather than the 27 or so that the limited files in B5 Mod allow (as they were designed for SE4 Classic (1.49), which did not allow up to 101 ships in a formation):

DefaultStrategies.txt
Formations.txt

Note that Formations.txt is the file containing formation information for fleets. DefaultStrategies.txt provides many customized fleet strategies for the player to use. These are from Ultimate Strategies Mod.

Yes, on the malfador mods page it states the Version requirements. I followed them.

Hyperspace systems are just eye candy. I can do without.

Okay, I will copy the pop mod settings and paste them into the B5 settings.txt.

Okay, thanks. I will try to play with it an let everyone know what happens (for future reference).

Thank you.

Well, both mods combine fine with the suggestions I posed to Fyron. His suggestion of defaultstrat and formations didn't change the mod any (for the worse), other than what he stated.

I didn't need to update the population modifiers (the Bab 5 mod had twice as many), in settings.txt.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Oh yeah, B5 Mod uses one of those silly low pop means no production schemes... ugh.
