Most of that stuff came out before I was born? lol at least I think that's the pattern I noticed as those bands are all what late 70s early 80s

Not even close, but I'll give you The Cure as late 80s. Johnny Cash had a huge career, but as I've got American IV that was 2002. Rest are all 90s or 00s.
