WB,

If this artillery is an "on-map" unit, then the "FIX" status make it stationary during your deployment phase.
If the unit has "AUX" instead of "FIX" then the player may decide where to deploy it (inside the deployment zone) during his deployment phase.

If the artillery is off-board then there isn't any difference between the two status.
