Re: Turn 21
Terrible. And no loud squeals of protest from Pan until it was too late?
Well, now you can free up a slot for your next game!

I hope next game we will get on the right foot. I usually do my best to avoid early fights, but I admit I was a bit upset by your attack.

Don't be upset , I had to attack someone, I was surrounded and had few provinces.
IF I had known you had a awake dragon and that the CB mod made farstrike the deadlist low level spell ever (it kills your leaders/commanders/mages with ruthless efficency), I really would not have...
|
Truth is, I was also surprised at just how efficient farstrike was, the battle replays showed your leaders like ducks in a shooting range
I think the modification to this spell did wonders to improve Marverni's potency, IMO its genius thinking.

Making Farstike the titan of low research spells certanly wasn't the intention, I'd be interested to hear more about what happened with it. The main boost CB gave to it was 100 precision... I wasn't thinking about that being used to assassinate commanders, but I guess it's a bit of a problem for the nations with small troops and big mages.

This was exactly the problem QM, my pans were behind my 100+ maenads/other troops who were size 2. My pans are size 3.
In one battle where I fielded 10 pans to all cast swarm/howl etc...farstrike took out 2-3 of those pans in the 1st combat round before they even got 1 spell off. You would expect 27hp pans to last longer than 1 round when behind 100-200 troops. Especially early in the game.

Re: Turn 21
Farstrike was indeed useful in killing Pans, on the counter side there were battles with Pans involved in which the Pans weren't targeted by it but rather chaff like wolves and maeneds.
QM, I have all my BARK turns saves so if you want you can analyze for your self just how useful farstrike became.
INHO, it became just as useful as it should be, and not because I have enjoyed it as Marverni. Had I played Pan I would have countered it by fielding driads instead of Pans, or Using white centaurs, meaning this spell adds another choice to early game strat. which imo is nice.

Re: Turn 23
If anybody's interested in trading the humble nation of Sauromatia a water bracelet, we'd be grateful. Now considering all offers... Cheers!
