Progress report:
Danube river - all the way across the map, done
Bratislava - downtown almost done, now closing in for the Castle hill.
You can see it on the attached image - red line marks level of Lev. 1 hill, orange line is Level 2 and bright blue is Level 3. Moving from Panonia lowlands to Carpathia
For this map, one height level = 10 meters.

EDIT: Err, forgot to attach the image

To the left (ie Southern - had to rotate the map to fit to 200x160 window) bank of river, ie there where there is nothing yet Have chosen to start with the city at first, as it's the hardest part, what with all the streets and houses.

In final state the map will have three variants:

1938 - only one bridge, old railroad pattern (based on German maps)
1970's/80's - what you see, three bridges, tramway network
2000's - two more bridges, highway

Update: Finished entire Northern bank of Danube river, complete with Old Town heights (reached to level 14). Now beginning to work on the other bank, ie on Petrzalka bridgehead itself.

Update 2 (Yup, had nothing better to do today But tomorrow I'll be off entire day so it'll balance out)

Waters (ie dead arms of Danube) in Petrzalka set, most of southmost block of big concrete blocks of flats set (will go away on 1938 map), quite a long stretch of both railway and main roads set, large parts of forest planted.

If it wasn't for my inability to count properly repeated few times, I'd have moe, but had to correct river, rework one dead arm for about three times before getting it right (no minor glitches, mistakes were in order of 500 meters so I couldn't overlook them).

Is the Winter Harbour natural or artificial? It looks very similar to an ancient Carthaginian trireme base on the coast of Lebanon (could be Libya).

Artifical, though I don't know how old - probably late 19th/early 20th century. In 1938 it's already there.
