Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCAMO!
Get it from Here
I refer to WW2Map of course.
I was able to get from this
to this
By using the latest version of WW2 Map.
I'll of course, be writing an article on how to use it.

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
This looks very promising!
I also saw that there is a program converting WW2 scenarios to WaW. Is there a way around? There are a huge amount of excellent scenarios in WaW but WW2 is a much better engine so I would convert a lot of them to WW2. Even if you have to fix a few things here and there after the conversion it would be very much worth it!

Looks well, would be a great help when doing maps off the real ones, I most certainly am looking forward to your instruction guide

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
We would need the color codes of:
-Heights
-Terrain types
I also succeeded in generating a map by a self-drawn .bmp file! Excellent!
Artur.

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
Terrain Color Codes are:
RGB:
Water: 0,0,120
-----
Swamp: 0,120,0
-------
Level 0 Land: 100,100,100
Level 1 Land: 140,140,140
Level 2 Land: 180,180,180
Level 3 Land: 220,220,220
----------
RED = Rough
GREEN = Trees
The rough and trees are placed in a statistical fashion according to the intensity of their color in the RGBtriple for a pixel.
The two can be combined. E.g. the greenish yellow areas are (175,185,0) which means that a hex in that area will have a 20% chance of being rough and a 30% chance of having trees.
155 0.00%
160 5.00%
165 10.00%
170 15.00%
175 20.00%
180 25.00%
185 30.00%
190 35.00%
195 40.00%
200 45.00%
205 50.00%
210 55.00%
215 60.00%
220 65.00%
225 70.00%
230 75.00%
235 80.00%
240 85.00%
245 90.00%
250 95.00%
255 100.00%

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
Played on with the tool yesterday.
The altitude import works quite well! of course we would need more than just 4 levels.
The terrain import on the other hand does not work.I tried the red and green colors. the red showed rough but the SPMBT map editor said it was a swamp. The forest showed like the forest but the editor said it was a stone bridge.

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
Okay, I just checked it, and you're right.
Forests = Stone Bridges.
So I guess Fred needs to do some more work to bring it in line with the current CAMO code.
But lets give Fred a break; it took him some time to get the altitude importing to work.

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
Fred's just released another version
Link
Apparently it has 16 levels now...
Please forgive me for the somewhat broken version 0.12c. The 4-color mode is fixed now. In addition, I added colors to go as high as 16 in the colored mode. You can see from my New_a.bmp map I did not go higher than color 6 in trying it out. There are at various colors
Here's the color code combos:
Water----0 0 255
Level 0----128 0 0
Level 1----160 0 0
Level 2----192 0 0
Level 3----255 0 0
Level 4----96 96 0
Level 5----128 128 0
Level 6----128 160 0
Level 7----128 192 0
Level 8----128 255 0
Level 9----96 96 128
Level 10----128 128 128
Level 11----160 128 128
Level 12----192 128 128
Level 13----255 128 128
Level 14----128 160 128
Level 15----128 192 128
Level 16----128 255 128

Re: Fred\'s WW2 Map now imports correctly with SPCA
How large of a map can you "import"? Will it use a full size .bmp to create a 200x160 map?
