Re: Problem after adding races
The problem is that the races you are using are built for an earlier Version of SE4, which didn't have those settings.
You can either wait for updated Versions (look for "Gold" or "Version 1.60") or modify the AI file yourself. Or don't use that race. Check the Extras folder on the Gold CD, there are some extra races there.

Re: Problem after adding races
You can fix them by copying a simular race style AI from GOLD. Or, wait for the author to update the ai.
I have updated all of my sets, however, there was a problem with the FLEET text. If you download any of my sets, I recommend that you simply delete the _AI_Fleet file from the race folder. This will prevent an error from showing, and the race will use the Default AI Fleet text instead.

Re: Problem after adding races
Atrocities,
I'm another new user who was planning a new thread, but hopefully you'll see this here. I downloaded your ST race sets and installed them but when I added them in a new game The pictures were there but none of the racial settings were included. I assume the race set includes more than just ship pictures, is that correct? If so, how do I get the game to included the characteristics, design name files, etc?
Thanks

Re: Problem after adding races
Coleman: are there .txt files in the race folder? .emp files? if so, you may have to manually put a couple of them in other folders. The designame.txt goes into a folder of the same same and the .emp files go into the empires folder.
also when starting a game did you use "new race" bar or "existing race" bar? new race lets you design your own while existing race(s) are those that have a .emp file in the empire folder.
hope I didn't confuse you (or say something incorrect, been doing this so long I forget the correct names and such)

Re: Problem after adding races
coleman, you need to move the EMP files from the race directory to the Empire folder. All the race include EMP files for 2k 3k 5k.
Hope that helps.
Also, be sure to delete the "Race Name"_AI_FLeet txt file from any race of mine you wish to use. Or if you able to do this, download the new "Race"_AI_Fleet txt file copy it and place it in all the race files that you have gotten from me, and then change the "race" to the name of the race. Example:
Race_AI_Fleet -to- Klingon_AI_Fleet
If you have any other problems, please let me know. Thanks

Re: Problem after adding races
See How to Convert Old AI to Gold for step-by-step instructions on how to get rid of those errors.

Re: Problem after adding races
Thanks a lot Attrocities!
Manually transferred the file and I'm off and running. Playing my first game of SE after a few false starts with the default Terrans and BOY, does your ST race set make the game more fun! It makes the races familiar.
Thanks for the hard work you put in.
