Re: OT: Any Suggestions? Display Problems
Well it looks like BFG is going to not honor their life time support and warranty pledge. I sent in the information from the video card, including its serial number and this is what they sent back to me.

William C,
Unfortunately I am unable to setup your RMA at this time, please respond with
with the correct model of the card. We do not have a 5700 Ultra 128mg card.
Please respond with either the AS or BFGR number on the card.
Once this information is received we can process your RMA.
Thank you,
Delma D

I love how they flatly deny making my card. (Yet there it is.)

Re: OT: Any Suggestions? Display Problems
It looks like it's branded as Asylum, so they'll probably be happy if you call it an "Asylum 5700 Ultra 128MB" card (stupid, I know).

Re: OT: Any Suggestions? Display Problems
Most tech support replies are form replies, as far as I can tell.

Re: OT: Any Suggestions? Display Problems
I once spent three months just trying to get a duplicate copy of my bill from Sprint because the tech support people claimed I didn't have a valid account number.
I eventually realized from the way one of the responses was worded that they were only looking at the Nextel wireless accounts, and not finding my pre-merger Sprint landline account.

Hmm, might also be your power supply that is about to give up. Got another you might try?

Re: OT: Any Suggestions? Display Problems
Whenever I get those replies, I tell them to stop billing that account number. That usually gets their attention.

Re: OT: Any Suggestions? Display Problems
Well I sent off the card to BFG. But now the PC is unstable and crashing all the time. I updated the nvidia drivers for the onboard video card according to nvidia's recommendations. Its an old PC, I am thinking about just junking it. With all the trouble I have had with HP over the years I will NEVER buy one again. NEVER AGAIN. The fact that this computer was shipped to me as a "new computer" and turned out to be a used one, says it all about HP.

Sounds more and more like problems with the power supply. *shrug*
