Re: Name That Magic Site
It's called the Vale of Infinite Horror for a reason, though that's 1% chance of being horrormarked, not being attacked by a horror.
Misfortune increases are The Doom Cloud and Strange Opening. Scale affecting sites in general were pretty rare and most of those are either death or heat/cold.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Magic sites with only pure negative stats... Vale of Infinite Horror is the second I've seen. Inkpot End kinda ruins your day too.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Yes, it does, far worse than the VoIH. IIRC those two are the only purely negative ones.
Almost any of the disease sites (Inkpot End, Chillsick Swamp, Leper Fens, Plaguewater Stream, Pool of Unhealthy Rites and Crown of Darkness) make provinces unusable unless you have lots of undead or demons. Or expendable mages. Leper Fens and Crown of Darkness are worst, with 10% disease (Crown has 40% Thaumaturgy bonus), Chillsick Swamp and Inkpot End have 5% disease and the other two are 3%.
A couple of other sites that one generally doesn't want in the vicinity are The Valley of Shame (1N, increases Sloth and Turmoil) and Desert (increases Heat and Death, nothing else, but needs to be scripted).

Re: Name That Magic Site
Don't forget Robber Home or what the name was. Increases unrest, allows you to recruit Villains (woohoo!). In a former MP game of mine where I searched every province for blood sites, all I found were five Robber Homes.

Re: Name That Magic Site
Being able to recruit villains is actually pretty awesome when playing on a NI map though.

Re: Name That Magic Site
I kind of like the negative sites. They add atmosphere! Even Inkpot End can be used strategically for defense. If an invading opponent doesn't know it's there, you can try to channel him into the province and then kill his commanders.
Crown of Darkness gives you 40% off GoR, that's always worth it.
I'd like to see a site that causes insanity in visiting armies, even just a small % chance would be nice.

Add immortal being and units with recuperation (the thing that recovers from afflictions) to the list. I'd love to have one such site in a game with pangaea.
