Yes, the host does have to give the game a name AFAIK. At least me and my brother had to (he lives in another town) when we played across TCP/IP. Also, if the game name is called "Game Time" you (the player not the host) has to type it in exactly like that. For example, it can't be called "Game Time" and typed in as "game time". That's the way we had to do it at least so that's what I'm basing my answer to. Hope that helps you out.
