Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Send in Pretenders]
Mictlan is just very strong EA, and Chris has a lot of experience with them. I don't really know how the mods will impact them - I'm sure Chris will though

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Send in Pretenders]
chris: That's absolutely ridiculous, you can't go around deciding what nation everyone can and can't be. Otherwise I would join every EA game by saying; "I'll be Niefelheim. Nope, I'll be Mictlan but no-one can be Niefelheim. Nope, I'll be Hinnom, but no-one can be Mictlan" and so on.
I'm not quite sure what would be the correct way of solving the situation now. If I were you I'd just stick to T'ien Ch'i - it should be great fun in CPCS, you're not particularly likely to come up against Mictlan, and anyway you've got an advantage in experience.
Anthropos: I think you might be too late unfortunately, although Amonchakad is the one to say for sure.

Llama, I had said mictlan in my original post. The game had gotten to the desired 12 players, with all nations chosen, and it looked as if we were headed for an immediate start.
If you read the original post, as well as burnsaber's it is stated that part of the purpose of the game is to test the mods. (ie., how many games do you know where 'if something is unfair we'll change it in mid-game' is a condition of the game?).
Since that was the case *and* the game was full (ie, nations already picked) I said I would switch to Arco/TC if there was no Mictlan because those two nations can test out the spells better.
As soon as shard said he was contemplating switching to mictlan (Ie., would pick which one he liked better, after playing with them,) I said forget it, I'll just go with my original choice.
Logically there are two possible standards:
1. No one can switch nations. In which case I'm mictlan.
2. First come first serve - in which case I'm still mictlan.
However, if you (or shard) think I was unethical or wrong in how I approached this (although how it can be a problem to say I'm willing to play TC as long as there's no mictlan) I'm willing to just drop, with no hard feelings on my side.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Send in Pretenders]
Aethyr: all you have to do is unpack the content of the .rar file in your "mods" directory inside the Dominions folder; then you'll find the Crusaders mod inside the in-game mod list(as llama said,it has no image next to it, so it may be difficult to spot). Are you sure that you've unpacked the .rar file after downloading it?
chris: Well, to be honest I didn't like either that you were just keeping some nations "reserved": I too think that you should stick to TC.
Anthropos: I'm sorry but we cannot accept you, the map is already tight with 12 players, and adding 1 more now would probably mean having to change map and postponing the game start by several days.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Send in Pretenders]
Amonchakad: the .rar file in my mod directory appears to be a 1.95MB file; however, when I *click* on it, I am not given an option to exract any files. I have downloaded/unpacked plenty of mods before and I've never experienced this.
Re chris: thanks, I was waiting for someone to point this out.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Send in Pretenders]
To point which out?
Anyway for the mod: I think the problem is that you don't have WinRAR: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm (you probably want the top one). rar files are an alternative to zip files, but an unrar program isn't packaged with windows like WinZip is.

Llama: Actually your point re: nation selection
Thanks for the assistance with the mod. I'm good to go now.

Re: Crusaders - Mod Heavy Ea game [Send in Pretenders]
FWIW, I'm with llama on this one too. Changing nation selection at the last minute is normally okay (I'd say the host would be well within their rights to veto it), but doing it on the condition that no-one else takes the nation you've just dropped is unreasonable. And going back on that change (to the extent of pre-emptively blocking even the possibility of shard changing nation choice) the moment something you don't like happens is to my mind definitely unreasonable.
