Ok. Thanks Cross. Will this link?
http://www.bayonetstrength.150m.com/...l/site_map.htm
The fact that you spent is broken.
Regards

Very good site. What I see is that is more oriented to infantry units and motorized and mechanized infantry.
Very good.

You would think that there would be loads of info on that, but there is not really much on GE WW2 tank bn organisation. Plenty on the toys, of course.

http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=b...sation&f=false

- for whatever value you make of web sources.

For the Germans - it was really a case of whatever was available to hand. TO&E charts were simply administrative theory, and if you want the specifics of a particular formation at a certain date then you really have to research their war diaries, returns of strength forms etc.

An old thread but I am catching up.

Andy is so right..The first "German" tank my dad saw behind the Omaha Beachhead was a black in color M4 Sherman, which had been captured in Africa. (It had of course been knocked out by its' original owners.)

Found another good source for Allied OOB:

And here's a good link for the Bayonetstrength site that had a broken link earlier in the thread:

A black Sherman with the cross would be a rare pic indeed!
Which reference is that?
