Default Questions about unit firing filters

A scenario designer with the extended (CD) version of WinSPMBT can set the unit firing filter (engagement ranges and armor MIN/MAX) for a scenario they're creating.

I'm assuming (and we all know what assumptions get you) this information is just lost/ignored if a player without the extended (CD) version plays the scenario.
Yes? No?

I've done some testing and can't seem to definitely confirm that firing filter data is/is not carried over from one scenario to the next in a campaign for CORE units.
Sometimes it appears to, others not.
The question is: Is it suppose to carry over or is it merely a fluke that it sometimes does?

It states somewhere in the game guide that they are used, you can even set them for units bought for the player side though they obviously cant adjust them.

Users without the CD cannot adjust the scenario designer's filters, but they can clear them.

That answers question #1, thank you.

How about :

Are filters suppose to carry over from scenario to scenario in a campaign?

Each scenario in a user campaign is a scenario. Filters will apply to any troops the scenario designer has laid out on the map.

However, the user's forces are removed from the map to be replaced with his core + any support troops, so naturally those will have no filters applied since they are not troops supplied by the scenario designer. Any fixed supports (auxiliaries) probably should still retain any filters the scenario designer placed on them. The AI force is retained, so it should have any filters the designer applied e.g. to set up a kill zone in a defensive scenario.

Not anything I have tested - you would need to suck it and see really. Also - any auxiliaries under human control with some "odd" filtering may give rise to complaints from end users without the CD since they may not realise that they can actually open the filter screen to remove any such "undesired" filters. (Non CD holders may not have read the appropriate section of the Game Guide).

And that answers question #2.
Thanks!

Hummmm ... since AI forces will use filters and non-CD players won't have the ability to apply/alter filters to their units this opens an interesting can of worms.
*flashes an evil grin*

Non CD players can remove any filter the scenario designer decided to foist on them. IF they have RTFM that is...

They can only remove filters of units they control off course not the other sides unless they use the editor.

In my experience the filters do not carry over from one battle to the next so I would check this.
