The monolith generates nature gems because of druidic rituals, so that's similarly immobile and nature-generating.

There is a mod out about a nation of fungi which has some pretty clever mechanics in place to support mobile and immobile mushroom monsters.

I know neither of these are exactly what you're asking for but they're kinda close and available today.
