Heh. All I have to do usually is make a surrender demand and the rebels collapse almost immediately.

"WE REBEL AGAINST YOUR UNJUST RULE!"
"Get back here."
"...okay."

There was a great Rebel planet in one of my Hotseat games.

One of the Norak's planets rebelled, so my brother sent a surrender demand, plus his fleet of 15 Shiny new high tech Baseships to secure the territory.

The rebels refused to surrender, and instead, vaporized his entire fleet before they could even fire back

Later, I attacked that same colony with 250 ships. The survivors of that battle included One (1) Battlemoon (10,000kt), 8 assorted minesweepers and other "don't get hurt" support craft, and 20,000 troops (out of 50,000 originally) who managed to capture the planet after a year of ground combat.

That War Feed Four thing was a hoot.

Though when a planet rebels from my empire I just tell them to surrender adn they almost always do. If they don't, I usually move one of my fleets over the planet and take out the defenses and try again. Then they usually give in.

When it comes to computer empires it gets interesting. Sometimes they caves, other times not. Usually if you're a lot strong them they are they'll give up, sometimes you have to win a few big battles against their fleet, and some times I actually have to invade their planets.

My Last game in Ultimate Mod, I never even had to build any troops, everyone was so afraid of my fleet... of 30 warships in 4 fleets. Granted my enemies were all computers but still I had anything and everything of theirs beat by a long shot.

Till the damn Cue Cappa started building Weapon Platforms with the Bunker ability... that sucked hardcore. Made life really tough for a bit.
