Re: So i made a new world map
I was teasing you. But someone was tying up Gandalf's site.
I'm pretty sure that the bandwidth of ReadyHosting is a lot better ... once I get the file past the bottleneck of my DSL uplink and posted to my site.

Re: So i made a new world map
A CPU spike by Dom may have killed my 2nd try at the file. The 3rd try was a success, though, so no biggie. But thanks for looking into it even if no one asked.

Well there is hope. I'm not really satisfied with this map. It looks a little bit too sterile for my taste and has some other quirks. I noticed that the water was a dithering of several different shades of blue. I replaced that with a single solid colour and saved the .tga with compression. Together with max compression using zip, I got it down to 7.3 MB (I actually got it down to 5.2 MB by compressing it as a bzip2-ed tar archieve.) If you want I can put it up on my homepage.

Can you put up a (temp) link to the 7.3Mb .zip? I'd like to at least look at it. Depending on how yours looks vs. Torvak's current one, I may replace the one I'm uploading to my site.
Once Torvak's prettied his up, I'm sure I'll end up using his.
TIA.

It's up at http://home.Online.no/~rmoldskr/Dominions/newworld.zip
I doubt you'll see any difference unless you look for it.
