SE4 messenger?
Sloow time here at the shrapnel server so I'm going to ask a question.
Is there any interest for including an ICQ type messanger into the SE4 companion.
With voice chat capability.
And should it the be connected to any of the common chat nets such as ICQ or should it be a per-to-peer network for the SE4 companion only?
Any other feature I should include?
(sitting at work 4 am and waiting for more work...)

Re: SE4 messenger?
Gosh, I hate voting the same as everyone else (and I kinda hated the way the choices read because I would never say it that way )
I don't use any kind of IM tool (now, waiting for Fyron to comment on that... ) but if I did, I wouldn't be using them while doing turns...it takes all my attention just to be competitive without interruptions .

An interesting idea but why reinvent the wheel?

I think you should stop adding random stuff to the SE4 Companion... music player, IM program, where does it end? If you want to learn how to program these things, that is fine, but keep them separate. The program you release is definitely doing far too much already...

Re: SE4 messenger?
An idea just struck me. Ouch! You should learn how to make the program use plugins/extensions. Then, you can keep extra stuff like this out of the core program, but able to be added in as a plugin, like Mozilla and such programs do. It would reduce the bloat for those that do not want weird features.
