Mod Launcher vs Editing Path.txt file
I take it that the mod launcher runs SEIV by going to the mod folder while still using the original files that are not contained in the mod. Where as editing the path.txt file will have the game look for all the files in the mod folder??? Because I've had trouble with the game looking for files when I've edited the path file to a mod and the game starts with error messages. OR is this not the case? I'm sorry if this has been covered in the forum somewhere else, but the mods don't really get into it much.

Re: Mod Launcher vs Editing Path.txt file
If I understand it correctly, all the mod launcher does is automatically edits the Path.txt for you...

Re: Mod Launcher vs Editing Path.txt file
You generally need to have most of the files in the Data folder either way. The Mod Launcher doesn't load SEIV any differently. As Ekolis said, all it does is edit path.txt automatically and launch SEIV.

Re: Mod Launcher vs Editing Path.txt file
batch scripts I use different batch scripts which copy/replace the path.txt and then run SEIV, works fine with me, different shortcuts to the different games/mods.

Ah, so I'm not the only one who runs SE4 on linux...
That's right, I do remember, one of the SE5 beta testers said he had Linux... Hah... now I know who you are again and I can endlessly bug you about testing SE5 on Linux!

I do not believe that Parabolize is a beta tester...

Re: Mod Launcher vs Editing Path.txt file
anyone had problems using the launcher under windows when you launch it from a shortcut? For some reason if I run the launcher using a start menu shortcut it won't launch se4, but it works fine if I open it from the folder

It works fine for me using a shortcut. My guess is that you accidentally copied the modlauncher program to the start menu instead of creating a shortcut.
