Flight changes?
Question for the beta-testers: has flight changed, and if so, how?
I seem to recall hearing that flight during battle was no longer essentially teleportation, but I don't recall anything more detailed. Anybody care to let Fluffy out of the sack?

I'd like to hear about this too.

I don't remember any changes. I don't think I've tested it with many fliers, but the Celestial Hounds (i.e. Fu Dogs) of Tien Chi flew just like I expected them to. The only Flight-related change I can remember are Tritons. Namely, they don't fly any more, in or out of water.

Re: Flight changes?
In Dom2 Flight was essentially buggy and useless, I mostly hope it has been fixed...

Re: Flight changes?
Flying units need more setup, that's all IMO.

I don't understand what you mean by this. Flight is insant transportation from one end of the battlefield to the other. Being able to fly doesn't give units immunity to melee attacks of non-fliers. AFAIK, both of these are intended.

Re: Flight changes?
He propably means unscripted Caelins telejumping into frontline and then getting decimated by arrows. WAD, Size 3 leather clad units with 9 HP are going to get butchered by arrows.

Well, combat AI is still stupid. I haven't found it to be as annoying as some others seem to think, but fliers can still get themselves killed when going after routing enemies.

Re: Flight changes?
Also, while innate flying (including from items) could be used well, _casting_ flight was buggy and horrible, when a pretender that's all alone casts flight and _misses_ itself, or when mages casting it would cast on units that already had flight, grrrr....
