The game and board rule
This has got to be the most productive message board I have ever seen for a game. Hardly any flaming. Not to mention that the producers really listen to their consumers. I can only imagine how good this game will be in three months let alone how it is now. Any status on drones?

Re: The game and board rule
I have to agree. The Last board that had this level of professional posting was a BOTF forum.

Re: The game and board rule
Look at the top level forums list. This board is more than twice the size of the next forum, Steel Beasts, and that's far larger than any of the remaining forums. SE seems to be a huge success for both Shrapnel and MM. And I have to agree, the discussion is good here. We seem to have sucked all the activity out of the SE 4 Center Forums, which used to be pretty active.

Re: The game and board rule
I agree completely with the high quality of this forum. It gives you really useful informations.
About the drones. I am glad that I am not the only one missing them. I didn't read anything about them in the Last time, so I was fearing that they might be dropped. No idea what they be like, however some features I would appreciate:
Basically the structure, cost and components as fighters but they can move through warp points. On the other hand when they are launched they cannot be recovered and would be selfdestroyed after a fixed period of time (e.g. 0.6 years for small, 0.8 for medium and 1.0 for large drones). Like that they would be a great tool for reconnaissance especially if mine fields are present (they would of course be destroyed by the mines, but they are cheap), but also for combat against fortified colonies. They could be launched from planets and ships/bases (if the latter have a drone bay).
Let's hope they will be in the game some day.

Re: The game and board rule
i kinda figured drones would be slightly bigger than fighters, able to fit in cargo and be launched, but would hold real ship components instead of small ones. and have some sort of reduced cockpit requirements. maybe like the WP computers or something.

Re: The game and board rule
As I said Puke. I don't know anything about how the drones will actually be, but these are just my suggestions. If you build them with the usual ship components, what would be the advantage against small ships like escorts?
