networking 101
I've got a local network and I can't determine what the IP and port address's are on either networked computer. Without this info I can't launch the network game. Any help would be great! Thanks

Re: networking 101
If you're on a windows machine, get your dos window / command prompt up and type ipconfig on each machine...it'll show you the addresses they are using. Not sure about the port numbers.

Re: networking 101
Good, glad to help. On further thought, port numbers are determined by the programmer of the game...You need him/them to supply that info.

Re: networking 101
I believe the port number is arbitrary, but needs to be set to the same number on both computers. In general, don't bother to change the default.

Re: networking 101
Got it! It works by using (default) "80" on both port address's. Thanks again Strider and Pvk. Network play adds a whole new dimension to 101.

Re: networking 101
Ya, playing 101 multi-player can be quite neat! If you thought fighting the AI was scary...

Re: networking 101
Actually, the default multi-player port set by 101 is 4242.
