Default Difference between Experience and Heroic ability??

What is the difference. I have commanders with several stars of experience and a star for heroic ability.

I also have a commander with just heroic ability but no experience star??

Experience stars are given out to everyone at a certain amount of xp points, and they always give the same benefits (search for them, they are on the forum)

Heroic ability is given to the "best of the best", that means 5-15 commanders, depending on game settings, whose experience and kill count are the biggest in game. Look for statistics/ hall of fame. Pretender gods can be in the hall of fame, but cannot get a heroic ability.

Having a commander with not even a single experience star is possible, but not common, unless you are in very early game (2nd turn) where no-one has yet claimed the empty places in the HoF

Is there a formula for HoF places? I once had two commanders, 141xp and 2 kills, 142xp and 2 kills, and *between* them in the HoF was someone else's hero with 75xp and 31 kills, or thereabouts. That makes one kill equivalent to some massively non-integral number of xp ... or are different kills worth different (undisplayed) numbers of points?

Also, is there any difference between normal (recruited) commanders who get into the HoF and are thus "heroic", and the "national heroes" who sometimes show up? Do the national heroes get non-random abilities, or something?

Do either type get more heroic abilities the more time they spend in the HoF?

How do you check how much experience a unit has?

The numeral experience for a commander is shown while he's in the Hall Of Fame.

Leaders who drop out of the Hall Of Fame retain their heroic ability, leaders who stay in there increase their heroic ability's power. There's only one, though, and you're stuck with it when your scout gets the heroic leadership ability...

National heroes are just very powerful nationspecific commanders that come as a lucky event. The "hero" title is, in their case, more of a flavour text. They gain experience and heroic abilities like everyone else: Through getting into and staying in the Hall Of Fame.

I think a kill is worth roughly two points of experience for calculation of the HoF. Don't know for sure, though.
